Samantha's Introspections

My name is Samantha and I am a young Homeschool lady that is very
> passionate about the Lord, and also passionate about staying pure of
> heart, mind and body for my future husband and ultimately, for Jesus
> Christ my bridegroom!
>
> About four months ago, upon reading the book "Do Hard Things" by
> nineteen-year-old Homeschoolers, Alex and Brett Harris, I felt God telling
> me to do something in saving unborn children and stopping abortion in our
> country, and wondered how I could make a difference...a BIG difference.
> Sure, I knew there was pregnancy resource centers already established and
> things like that, but I wanted to do something deeper, something
> more...but I wasn't quite sure what or how.
>
> Then I heard in Dr. Dobson's book Bringing up Girls of this dance.  But it
> wasn't just any dance; it was called a Father/Daughter Dance, or
> Father/Daughter Ball started by a Christian couple in Colorado Springs.

> That's when I had the idea, "What if we cut the issue of abortion at its
> roots? What if we organized a Father/Daughter Purity Ball here in
> Missouri, that would encourage young ladies to save their hearts and
> bodies for their future husband, and at the same time exhorting the
> fathers to protect their daughters from the lies of the world?"  Because
> you see, when more families, when more young ladies give their hearts
> fully to the Lord, then there is less bad choices, which results in less
> babies being aborted! I am very excited about this event!
>
> The event is on Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 @ the Abundant Life Baptist
> Church in Lee's Summit.
>
> The Father/Daughter Purity Ball is a non-for-profit event; all the
> proceeds go toward Rachel House and to helping adopt a little orphan
> child.
>
> This event is going to be not so much focused on physical purity, as it is
> spiritual purity.  It's for that reason that we will have a speaker come
> and share the Gospel at this event, because we want girls (& Dads) to know
> how they can truly be pure!  And that's only by the blood of Jesus Christ
> washing over their sins when they trust Him to save them.

Interesting Facts about Malaysia

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/my.html

Here are some details about Malaysia I found on CIA website.

"During the late 18th and 19th centuries, Great Britain established colonies and protectorates in the area of current Malaysia; these were occupied by Japan from 1942 to 1945. In 1948, the British-ruled territories on the Malay Peninsula except Singapore formed the Federation of Malaya, which became independent in 1957. Malaysia was formed in 1963 when the former British colonies of Singapore, as well as Sabah and Sarawak on the northern coast of Borneo, joined the Federation. The first several years of the country's independence were marred by a communist insurgency, Indonesian confrontation with Malaysia, Philippine claims to Sabah, and Singapore's withdrawal in 1965. During the 22-year term of Prime Minister MAHATHIR bin Mohamad (1981-2003), Malaysia was successful in diversifying its economy from dependence on exports of raw materials to the development of manufacturing, services, and tourism. Prime Minister Mohamed NAJIB bin Abdul Razak (in office since April 2009) has continued these pro-business policies and has introduced some civil reforms."

If you are from Malaysia, what is it like to live there?  What is the weather like?  The people like?  What do you do for fun?

Shout out to You, Peoples around the World.

Hello people of Malaysia.

How are you today?  I see that many of you are viewing my blog, and I want to especially welcome you here.

Are you looking forward to a great new year in 2014?  You might already be celebrating... We celebrate tonite as we have about 16 hours before we ring in the new year.

Yes, we are glad that 2013 is almost  done...and ringing in the New Year of 2014.  But you know why we love new things?  I think that this is born in us.  Our biggest excitement should be that we can know God, thru his Son Jesus Christ.  When we repent (turn) of our sins, and look to Jesus to save us from our sin, we can become a new CREATION.

We can be new in Christ Jesus.  He will take away all of our old and yucky, smelly sin...worse than the smelliest garbage or backed up sewer mess, or a million times worse than an open dump that reeks of all the refuse of a 100,000 peoples.  Maybe you live in a place such as this.  Maybe you have visited a place such as this, and couldn't wait to get out of the filth and stench that hung on you like old rags.

He takes our filth upon us, and then, thanks be to God, HE gives us a beautiful, whiter than snow, brilliantly clean fresh white, glowing robe of Righteousness...to cover us and make us clean.

However, we must repent and believe.

2 Corinthians Ch. 5  17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

And when we become new in Him, guess what?  No longer do we have to fear death, and the sometimes terrible destruction of this life.  We will be going to Heaven when we die, when we repent and believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God.

So, Let this news bring joy to your heart.  Search Christ in 2014.  He will not let you down.  Even if this seems strange, some lady in the United States asking you, telling you, begging you to search out Jesus.  This IS a life or death moment for you.

Your friend and pardner,
Holly

Thoughts of the Day...from your Pardner and Pal, Holly

Good morning and pros vs. cons of using large machinery when sledding.

Howdy pardners....
It's another cold morning here in the Midwest...16 degrees.  A virtual heatwave...ha, ha!  It's on days like this that I think or dream about having a warm home in Florida for a few months of the year! :)

I'm not complaining though.  We do have 4 seasons...and God even blessed us with a beautiful white Christmas!  The kids and I went sledding at Grandmas on an old wooden sled.  Really it's a toboggan more like it.  My mom pulled us behind her Chevy Blazer, around and around in the snow out in the pasture... which worked out well.  Unless she got stuck, and the wheels started spinning, faster and faster, and then gravel, dirt and snow chunks flew everywhere.  Somewhat painful fun!
"Ahhh! Mom!" My littledaughter, Elena, who wanted to sit in the front, of course,... shouted when the tires started spitting at her...like an old machine gun.  Shooting gravel and snow at her face...
"Turn your face to the side! Turn your face!"  I shouted from behind 3 more kids and one short, medium sized puppy, named Serena Josephina, or "Josie" for short.  We clung to the scratchy yellow rope tied on to the sides of the sled as we swung precariously this way and that.
We were no worse for the wear!  However, as I write this at my desk, my daughter remarks, "It didn't hurt that bad!"

Verse of the Day...New Testament

1st Corinthians 15:45-58
And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual.

The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.

As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly.

And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.

Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—

in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

“O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?”

The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Verse of the Day...New Testament

 1st Corinthians 15:35-44

But someone will say, “How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?

And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but mere grain—perhaps wheat or some other grain.

But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body.

All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds.

There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.

So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption.

It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power.

It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

ACLJ Member,
Christians are suffering the greatest wave of persecution since the founding of the Church.
From Pastor Saeed's imprisonment and torture in Iran to the slaughter of Christians by jihadists in Egypt, Syria, and Nigeria, we are battling a global epidemic.
At the ACLJ, we are redoubling our efforts for the persecuted Church. Our offices in the United States, France, Russia, and Brazil – and even places I can't mention to protect the safety of our attorneys – are fully engaged in defense of the defenseless.
Together we're making a difference. This year, dozens of Christians in Pakistan were saved from radical Islamic persecution and an Iranian pastor, Youcef Nadarkhani, was freed.
Your support makes this possible.
The deadline for our year-end Matching Challenge is in just over 24 hours. Stand with persecuted Christians today.

Good Morning, Ya'all!

It's really cold this morning...I mean REALLY cold.  About 8 degrees out there.  Makes ya just want to snuggle down in your comforter all snuggy and snuggly, as my kids would say.

However, sometimes, in fact a lot of time, we have to get out of our warm little bed, and do what we must do!

It's called choosing a life of Excellence, over a life of Convenience!
Have you ever heard of that before?

One of my latest fave books is called, "Toughen Up! Basic Training for Leadership and Success."
